The approach of Flow Counselling is to "take the time to experience and reflect" either on a one-to-one session or through group work which involves narrative therapy (storytelling) and developing useful strategies for dealing with issues. The aim of the flow process is to diminish stress, anxiety and depression into a productive and positive future life.
Clients are encouraged to develop their own life stories and positive experiences, and reflect on them. The implementation of narrative therapy is also particularly useful for migrant individuals and families as it allows for deconstruction of life stories and enables culturally relevant therapy and interventions.
